Using vectors allows me to use any brushtip I choose, after the lines are drawn. This only leaves the coloring - which can be done quite easily if the asset was made with colored skin option(s) - and tidying up the lines, unless I want to draw it by hand, as in tracing the lines from the 3D.Īn integral part in making the result look good and fit in with the characters I draw is using vector lines, so I can change the brush used on the background lines later to fit my style. There's the really awesome function on EX of extracting line drawings with varied settings options from these 3D assets, meaning that once I set the "stage" as I wish, I can use the tool to either extract just the outlines of everything in that background with one line width or vary the line width based on how far from the camera the objects are, but I can also extract the contour lines or even the full shading from the 3D. comics background building way eay faster than drawing everything from scratch, especially when same environments are shown from different angles. Of course a lot of CSP users use 3D on CSP. The file types that can be imported into Clip Studio Paint are CLIP STUDIO 3D Character format (extension: cs3c), CLIP STUDIO 3D Object format (extension: cs3o), CLIP STUDIO 3D Background format (extension: cs3s), and fbx, 6kt, 6kh, lwo, lws, and obj files.
